Introducing Sustainable Swim Parkas: The Cleaner Way to Swim

We’re so excited to announce we’ve partnered with Aquadash, Australia’s leading supplier of eco-friendly swimwear, and now – sustainable swim parkas.

It’s the latest addition to the entire overhaul of their stock – ensuring they only offer the best sustainable swimwear in the industry.

We’re proud to offer all our aquatic centre and swim school customers with the latest and most environmentally friendly alterative swimwear on the market.

You’ll no longer have to worry about harming the environment when swimming in these brand new, super comfortable, ecologically sustainable swim parkas.

What are sustainable swim parkas made of?

They’re made from recycled plastic bottles.

Every single minute, around one million plastic drinking bottles are created. And every year, 373 million of them simply end up as waste.

Aquadash’s sustainable swim parkas aim to change that. They’re completely made and recycled from discarded bottles left for the landfill.

Upon collecting bottles left for the garbage, Aquadash’s own manufacturers melt them down and craft recycled polyester yarns.

Aquadash then use these yarns to produce our garments, coming together to form parkas – free from all unwanted, foreign objects.

Given plastic does so much damage to the natural environment, we’re so proud to be supporting this creativity, offering all out customers a healthier product.

Aquadash sustainable swimwear: swimming towards a bigger goal

As an Aussie business, we’re doing our bit at Sigma by partnering with Aquadash to ensure harmful plastics stay out of our oceans.

Around 130,000 tonnes of plastic leaks into our marine environment every year – and that’s only in Australia.

By providing sustainable swim parkas, we’re working towards the Australian Government’s National Plastics Plan 2021, which aims to achieve:

  • 100% reusable and recycled packaging by 2025; and
  • 70% plastic packaging going on to be recycled or composted by 2025.

It’s all about contributing to the circular economy, and working towards a cleaner, better world.

All the certifications: so you know the swimwear is truly sustainable

Our goal at Sigma is to give back by offering our customers with high-quality sustainable swimwear that’s met rigorous standard testing.

Aquadash certainly fits that bill. All their swimwear has:

  • Achieved the OEKO-TEX® standard 100-certification – their fabrics have been rigorously tested to ensure they’re not harming human or environmental health with their products;
  • Achieved the Global Recycle Standard; and
  • Met the tough benchmarks set by the EPI so you can be sure we’re not just providing you with ‘frills swim parkas’.

Anyone who knows Aquadash will tell you their passion about giving back.

That’s not only by donating to remote communities in need, but now by protecting our ocean’s natural ecosystems.

It’s the cleaner way to swim.

If you’re looking for the best sustainable swimwear for your range, ensuring your students or visitors have a comfortable swim while reducing their carbon footprint, look no further.
